Cupping Therapy in North County San Diego

Restore Circulation, Relieve Pain, and Rebalance the Body

An Ancient Technique for Modern Pain Relief

Cupping therapy is an ancient healing technique that uses suction to promote circulation, release tension, and encourage the body’s natural detoxification processes. At Lotus Integrative Wellness, we incorporate cupping as part of our holistic approach to pain relief and musculoskeletal health.

What is Cupping?

Cupping involves placing specialized glass or silicone cups on the skin to create a gentle suction. This suction lifts the tissue, increases blood flow, loosens tight muscles, and helps flush out stagnation. Unlike massage, which applies pressure downward, cupping works by pulling tissues upward, offering a unique way to relieve deep tension and improve overall mobility.

Benefits of Cupping Therapy

Cupping can support healing and wellness in many ways, including:

Alleviating muscle soreness and chronic pain

Improving circulation and lymphatic flow

Enhancing athletic recovery and performance

Easing tension headaches and migraines

Supporting relaxation and stress reduction

What to Expect During Your Visit

Dr. Monica will assess your concerns and determine whether cupping is appropriate for your session. Cups may be placed on specific areas of tightness or used in combination with acupuncture or massage. The process typically lasts 10–20 minutes. Some mild redness or circular marks may appear on the skin after your treatment—these are temporary and a normal part of the healing response.
